Are you trying to lose at least 10 lbs? If so, make sure to avoid these 3 common mistakes to accelerate your weight loss!
Are you someone who is actively trying to lose 10 lbs or more?
It can be confusing with so much information out there as to what’s the best way to go about losing weight.
Here are the 3 most common mistakes I see when trying to do so that you can avoid. . .
1) Only Doing Cardio
Nothing against cardio. (some people love it)
But most people do not. That is my main issue with it, that most people do not enjoy being on the treadmill or another cardio machine. And in my opinion it’s not realistic to stay consistent year after year doing an activity that you dislike.
A second issue with ONLY doing cardio is that it’s very time consuming.
You’re not always going to have a full 60 minutes to do cardio multiple times a week and that time can be used more efficiently.
2) A “Bro Split” Workout Routine
This means you’re training each muscle group separately. Chest one day, back another, arms another, shoulders another, and so on.
If your main goal is weight loss this is not a great way to burn calories and maximize your time in the gym. The training is too isolated.
Keep it simple, train with compound movements, and you can even pair exercises into circuits to burn more calories with limited rest periods.
But I understand that a “bro split” is a fun way to train.
3) Going on a Strict Diet
This usually doesn’t end well. Anything that is unrealistic or too strict to sustain longer than 30 days or so is just a recipe for a roller coaster ride with your results.
If you want lasting weight loss, the best bet is following a real nutrition strategy that simplifies things for you and works with your lifestyle. (I’m sure you’ve heard it before)
One that allows you to enjoy life and food while seeing real progress.
If you’re not sure what that strategy is, take my nutrition quiz to determine which method could fit well with your schedule, preferences and lifestyle.
Based on your answers you’ll be sent a method that best suits you, and a guide to execute it properly.
